Sara Tate, TBWALondon
Sara Tate is a highly visible leader, with a whip smart sense of humour, helping to keep morale high during even the toughest of times.
Sara is one of very few agency CEOs to work part-time (4 days a week). This year she has been nominated for the Timewise ‘Power Part Timers’ List by Nicola Kemp, who describes Sara as “a trailblazer in this area [being a part-time industry leader]”. In February Sara was awarded Campaign magazine’s Female Frontiers award for exceptional leadership.
For Sara Tate the key to leading effectively in 2020 ultimately came down to one main thing – to listen to her team. One way TBWA was so effective with its internal communications was via its weekly agency feedback app Pulse. When the pandemic hit it enabled Sara to address concerns instantly.
Sara is a strong supporter of women and BAME employees in the workplace and is a current mentor of young women for WACL, NABS and the AdWeek Executive Mentor programme. This year she made D&I a business critical priority, hiring Ali Hanan’s Creative Equals to conduct an audit of the business. Sara also brought in a company menopause policy.
This year Sara and TBWA's Anna Vogt launched The Rebuilders podcast to help the industry find inspiration during these challenging times.
A phenomenal new business talent, Sara has led five new biz wins this year including the £13.5m Facebook Portal account - total revenue will be up an impressive 11% for the agency (confidential).
